The name “Kolby” of the Pouzdřany wine company and its products, uses an ancient name for hills Kolby, on the foothills of which Pouzdřany extend. After consultations with the onomastic department and particularly the dialectology department (primarily with Mrs. Kloferova) of the Institute of Czech Language (by Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic), which deals with the origin of local names, it is possible to state:
